A STEP UP from the bottom rack of Systemet’s domestic lagers, but not by too much. Rusty color virtually matches the can and flavor is correspondingly a little sweeter in the finish than standard light lagers nominally in the Bavarian style (this being a stretch, not least since the subtext translates to ‘dark lager’; Vienna would be a closer facsimile). Thus a second dimension to an otherwise alarmingly phenolic brew. This is helpful, as the aroma that is metallic to a fault, such that the (fairly mild) hops come as a break rather than a peak.
