A RICHLY CARBONATED, moderately dark copper dubbel, recognizable as kin to the Blue for its light body and slight medicinal edge. Naturally a simpler brew, though, and not quite as strong (7% vs 9%). Overtones of toffee and the suggestion of cherry in the nose, but a more direct flavor with a bit of citric zip. Dark malts and phenolic edges more potent than the yeast, making for a fairly light mouthfeel.
Served: 750 ml bottled late 2011
