RATHER BOLD AT 47.3% ABV, Tanqueray still offers a rich and warm bouquet of medicinal herbs, pine, linseed, and juniper a few layers down. A little spicy on entry to the palate but never hot, the alcohol shows itself early and then starts sliding into the background in favor of slightly tart berries and coriander. Hints of ginger. Dry once its ‘second’ finish comes around, fairly full and a little sweet until that point with a touch of syrup to its body. Lively without being uncouth, pure (quadruple distilled) without being drab. Pleasant altogether, if a bit bitter on the pine side. And strong.
